Who is it that rows quickly with four oars but never comes out from under his own roof?

Riddle: Who is it that rows quickly with four oars but never comes out from under his own roof?

This is a pretty funny riddle. For turtles, it can be said that they are always in their home because of their shells. Therefore, they never come out from under their roofs in order to protect themselves from any danger outside.

When they feel they are not safe they are pulled into their shells. Also, turtles have four little legs, two on each side. When they walk their legs might look like they are rowing with their hands inside their shell. With these in mind, this riddle’s answer makes sense. The answer of this riddle is a turtle.

The answer:  A Turtle.
