Question: Which city features a New World house that was built for Napoleon?
The answer is: New Orleans
Napoleon Bonaparte wasn’t content with just conquering Europe; he was also interested in conquering the New World during the early 19th century. But he never made it there. After losing the Battle of Waterloo, Bonaparte was exiled to the South Atlantic island of Saint Helena in the 1820s. A tentative plan was set into motion to relocate the former emperor to an apartment in the French Quarter of New Orleans. A pirate named Jean Lafitte was part of the plot and, as the story goes, a boat was on its way to deliver Bonaparte to his new home, when he died unexpectedly at the age of 51.
