Riddle: We are little creatures; all of us have different features. One of us in glass is set; one of us you’ll find in jet. Another you may see in tin, and the fourth is boxed within . If the fifth you should pursue, it can never fly from you. What are we?

This is my favorite puzzle lately! It is both rhyming and fun. Did you find the answer?

If you haven’t found it, don’t worry. I’m here for you.

The answer is vowels. But why? In fact, everything is hidden inside the riddle as always. Let’s consider the vowels in English: A, E, I, O, and U.

“One of us in glass is set” means that one of them is in the word glass. This refers to the letter A. “One of us you’ll find in jet” means the letter E. And “tin” I, “boxed” O, “pursue” is U.

Very enjoyable, right?

Answer:  We are vowels.
