Walk on the living, they don’t even mumble. Walk on the dead, they mutter and grumble.

Riddle: Walk on the living, they don’t even mumble. Walk on the dead, they mutter and grumble. What are they?

This is a riddle that sounds very interesting, isn’t it? When something is alive, you walk on it, it doesn’t make a sound, on the other hand, when it dies, you walk on it and it makes a sound. Is it even possible? I know it sounds crazy but if it is leaves, it is possible.

When the leaves are alive, they are more watery and softer. Therefore, whether you walk on them or jump on the, they do not make any noise. When they die, however, they dry out and become crunchy, so when you step on them you can hear them mutter and grumble. The answer of this riddle is fallen leaves.

Answer:  Fallen leaves.
