Riddle: I run around the city but never move. What am I?

Here is a riddle that fairly short and easy to solve! The key point to solve this is to think not according to today’s conditions, but according to the conditions of the older periods. There are no structures surrounding cities today, but such structures were quite common in the past.

 

Many structures were being built to provide city security and to create a line of protection against wars, and the most known of these were “city walls”. There! The answer to the riddle is a city wall and this is the only structures that surround cities but never move.
