I’m a god, a planet, and measurer of heat. Who am I?

Riddle:  I’m a god, a planet, and measurer of heat. Who am I?

This is a very interesting riddle, but it is not difficult at all! It may seem strange that these three attributes are in one thing, but there is such a thing. Mercury is a god, a planet, and a measurer of heat. Mercury is an important Roman god.

Mercury was believed to be the most cunning and fastest god. It is thought that this name was given because of this feature. Also, Mercury is the smallest planet in the Solar System and closest to the Sun.  Finally, a Mercury thermometer, a glass bottle containing a thin tube, is used to measure the heat.

The answer is:  Mercury.
